Everyone loves a carnival!


Please join “The Pearl-Qatar and its multicultural community that will bring the sights and sounds of a multicultural festival to the Boardwalk every day.


From April 19 to May 19, every weekday evening from 6pm, and from 3 pm on weekends. 


Musical acts, magicians, performers and street art from around the globe in a celebration of The Pearl-Qatar’s multicultural community.


While the carnival atmosphere will continue inside the retail precincts, a main stage will host top performers including a jazz saxophonist and dance troupes showcasing routines from the Arab world as well as countries including Russia, Sweden, France, Britain and North America.


Meanwhile magicians, human statues, stilt walkers, jugglers and acrobats will keep residents and visitors entertained. A children’s area will see face painting, balloon animal making and other activities including arts, crafts and games.


Visitors will be able to “walk around” all of the carnival attractions.

Do you know what is Anima gallery & lounge?

Anima gallery & lounge, is a concept gallery that targets people in search of artistic inspiration. 

The gallery is linked to an upscale lounge offering its visitors the chance to interact, watch art videos and read art magazines and books. Moreover, the gallery will schedule art and sculpture classes in collaboration with Qatar’s prominent universities and colleges.

The opening ceremony of Anima gallery and lounge will take place today March 24, 2012 when the gallery will open its doors for its opening exhibition “Together We Connect”. 

The exhibition will showcase the works of international artists; Jason Martin, Billy Childish, Tracey Emin, Bernard Frize, Tom Sachs, as well as works by renowned regional artists Hassan Hajjaj, Mohamad-Said Baalbaki ‘Baal’ and Abdulrahman Katanani.  The inaugural exhibition will also feature three pioneering Qatari artists - Yousef Ahmed, Ali Hassan and Amal Al-Aathem.  

Twelve other artists represented by Anima gallery and lounge will also be at the event to talk about future exhibitions. The artists are Charbel Aoun, Emmanuel Guiragussian, Elie Bourgely, Faraj Dham, Jean-Marc Nahas, Jean-Paul Guiragossian, Jehad Al Ameri, Manuella Guiragossian, Mayak, Mohamad Al Amri, Najia Mahadji and Nuno De Matos.

VERA WANG Charity fashion Show

The last Saturday 23rd of April, the VERA WANG Charity fashion Show was held at The Pearl-Qatar, in support to the Occupational Therapy Unit in Rumaillah Hospital. Funds raised will go towards buying customized wheelchairs (manual or power Wheelchairs) depending of the case, after comprehensive evaluation, they recommend the best sitting and positioning equipment for each case, children and adults regardless their nationalities, the objective of the program is to maximize Independence, enhancing their quality of life, helping them to be and feel productive in this society.

I am truly glad I was part of this event, I sincerely congratulate all the organizers (Vera Wang and United Development Company) the sponsors (UDC, Ronautica and Commercial Bank) the supporters (Yehia&Zakaria, Food mark and mango tree) for such a wonderful event, and I would love to be part of this kind of event more often.

Well, well, well talking about the fashion they showed us part of the Spring collection 2011; Draped and pleated dresses, a lot of Silk (tulle, wool) Jersey, organza and Sheer Chiffon, silver, gold, red, purple; for day and night in a variety of styles: short and long, One shoulder, high-necked, medium-sleeved and sleeveless cocktail dresses, very diverse.

Travelling around the world has made me learn and keep the best of each culture. I have always been attracted to the Art and crafts that characterize the places I have visited, such as a Chinese Cabinet (Classic Ming style), Thai musicians, African masks or just a painting, I bring them with me wherever I go, always remembering me the history behind them.

Well, I can tell you that I've never been in Turkey, but I have met amazing people from there, and last week I learned a lot of their culture through their art, yes! Right here in Qatar.

Hiref; Turkish Home accessories Brand opened its doors on April 14th at the Pearl, with a party full of elegance and tradition.

Fascinated with the store and all the pieces exhibited, of course, I fell in love with some of them. Who better than the designer Ebru Cerezci to talk about her artwork, I was delighted with her passion and truly heart, when she described each piece, which made me even more in love with them, for their history.

My favourites:

The Motif Collection

The Abdan Collection (Circle Gold) the water bottle is made of glass, totally unique and functional, the wooden lid is pure Kastamonu style.

Hands with "Evil eye" to ward off negative energies, is the perfect gift to bless and protect your home.

The masterpiece made it exclusively for Qatar (only 11 pieces) and I loved more was the replica of the traditional Kaftan (Gold plated and Swarovski crystal), a widely used piece of clothing during the Ottoman Empire. Just gorgeous!

But speaking of Cheap and Chic, prices are for all tastes and budgets, affordable prices, from 300 QAR, 400 QAR, 700 QAR, 2000 QAR, to 35,000 QAR for the Kaftan, as I told you, for all tastes.

Last Thursday (March 31st) one of the World's Leading French leather goods brand, opened a boutique at the Pearl-Qatar.

So, You have to definitely stop by the pearl to visit Lancel's new Boutique. The store has a great atmosphere, warm and stylish and the Staff is very smart and kind. 

They opened their doors with a lovely cocktail party, that I really enjoyed by the way, there were a series of portraits and collection of vintage handbags, and that was very sophisticated, I felt like in a gallery of pure art, they also had a Bucket giant cooper bag, do not miss it! That was pretty impressive.

After 135 years of history Lancel is still creating beautiful masterpieces, I fell in love with Le Brigitte Bardot eco-friendly/green bag made ​​of 100% Natural Fibres (Soft Tweed and Alcantara) the purple one was my favourite.

The design is very interesting, is full of style and the shape, It was inspired by Brigitte Bardot's body, the Belt resemblance to a guitar strap, and it has other personal details that make this bag so Chic and totally unique. The Bag is available in Nautic Blue, Tangerine, Ivory, Pink, Black, Black multicolore, Purple, Smoke Grey and Mocha.

Also I found many other choices for different tastes such as: Premier Flirt (Bucket bag) and the Rock and Roll (Shopper bag) that is very easy to clean, water proof and it comes in many different colours, perfect for everyday wear.

Well, talking about Cheap, I consider that the prices for the collectible pieces like Le Brigit Bardot Black Multicolore special edition (limited to 888 copies) are fair and definitely worth it.
